Family heirloom restored.
Scope mount holes not drilled in line. Plugged holes, new drill and tap. New modern Leupold STD mounts. A more modern Leupold VX-III from another rifle mounted on this one. Action showed the years. Restored with a Gun-Kote finish. New Pachmayr F325 recoil pad. Rear swivel long since pulled out, front not far from being pulled out. Grovtec brass insert installed in rear and Grovtec machine screw swivel stud installed. Front has a nut backed machine screw Grovtec swivel. Stock refinished to a original finish with had polished oil coating

After years of dependability, time for a bit of attention and a new generation’s use. Extend the stock length (LOP), with a Kick-Eez spacer. New recoil pad to calm the monster down a bit. A Pachmayr F325 Field Pad with vented sides to keep the traditional look of the classic stock. Over years and miles of being packed, it is common for swivels studs to pull through. Repaired rear stud with a Grovtec brass threaded insert, a very discreet repair. Repaired front swivel with matching Grovtec nut backed swivel stud. Multiple hand polished oil finish. Hot blued barreled action.

Replaced scope with Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14 X 40mm and Leupold STD mounts. Repaired stock breaks. Installed Pachmayr Decelerator D750B recoil pad, restored stock, Gun-Kote metal for an excellent corrosion resistant finish, set up, sighted in.
